The American Interventional Headache Society™ (AIHS) is the first and only organization of its kind that is dedicated to promoting and advancing education, research, and innovations in multimodal interventional management for head, neck, and orofacial pain.

AIHS is a national professional organization of physicians, dentist, health care professionals and scientists dedicated to raise awareness and advancing interventional headache management. Educating physicians, dentists, health care professionals and the headache community as well as supporting innovations and clinical research are the primary objectives of AHS.

One of the main goals of AIHS is supporting clinicians and health care providers with professional development, and credentialing needs by offering a range of CME accredited educational offerings with extensive opportunities for hands-on practice.

AIHS courses and workshops will cover:

  • How to establish an in-patient headache service?
  • How to establish an out-patient infusion therapy unit for headaches?
  • How to establish Interventional headache program? and how to incorporate into your daily practice various procedures for head, neck, and orofacial pain?
  • Appropriate documentations and billing
  • Surface landmarks blocks, Ultrasound guided injections, fluoroscopy-guided injections.
  • Head and face procedures: Trigger point Injections, Peripheral Nerve blocks, Occipital nerve block, Trigeminal nerve block, Vagal nerve block, Glossopharyngeal nerve block, Sphenopalatine ganglionblock and radiofrequency ablation, Gasserian ganglion block and radiofrequency ablation, IV infusion therapy for intractable headaches, Botulinium toxin injection and headaches, Epidural blood patch
  • Neck procedures: Cervical facet nerve block, Cervical facet nerve radiofrequency ablation, Atlanto-occipital and atlanto-axial joint injections, Cervical facet intra-articular injections, Cervical epidural steroid injections, Cervical nerve root injections
  • Neuromodulation and Innovative approaches: Occipital nerve stimulation for head pain, Sphenopalatine stimulation, Cervical spinal cord stimulation for neck pain and cervicogenic headache, High frequency stimulation, Cranial electromagnetic stimulation, Deep brain and motor cortex stimulation for head and face pain, Intrathecal medications and intrathecal pumps for intractable head and neck pain.

Retiree Membership - $50

Retired members are former "Active Members" who are no longer in the active practice of medicine. To be eligible for Retired Membership, an individual must request Retired status, in writing by emailing us at info@interventionalheadache.net.
